The Distribution of AFG Funding is to all Areas of the Country
All 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the four territories have received a distribution of free government grants through AFG Funding in the year 2008.
Distribution:
For the most part, the distribution of funds is closely related to the percentage of applications that are received from each area. The greatest number of applications came from Pennsylvania with 2,255. Their application percentage and total distributed free grant money from the AFG were the same at 10.7%.
The second largest number of applications came from the state of New York with 1,315 or 6.3%. They received only 5.8% of the free grant money, but it is what they requested. The lowest number of application from a state came from Hawaii with only three. The AFG distribution to Hawaii was $789,7111.
The only disparity to that pattern is the District of Columbia. There was only one application from Washington DC but they received the highest average federal share at $1,171,200. This variant from the norm is expected since this place in the country has the highest concentration of public officials that represent the entire nation.
All but seven states had triple digit applications for the homeland security grants through AFG. The lower number of applications from those states can be attributed to either their small size in area or population as with Wyoming with only 51 applications and Delaware with 34.
With no area of the country being excluded from AFG Funding, any firehouse in the country is eligible to apply.
